Privacy Policy
1. Controller
Elman Huseynov
10625 Berlin, Germany
E-mail: contact@elman.group
2. General
elman.group is a portfolio and overview site that links to my projects and profiles. I process personal data only where it is technically necessary or where you consent. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(a), (b) and (f) GDPR.
3. Hosting
This website is hosted by an external provider: Hostinger. The host processes the server log data described below on my behalf under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place.
4. SSL/TLS encryption
This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security, which you can recognise by the "https://" and the padlock in your browser bar.
5. Server log files
When you open the site, the hosting provider automatically collects server log files (browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name, time of access, IP address). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, providing the site securely and reliably. The data is deleted after a short period.
6. Cookies
As things stand, this site sets no non-essential cookies and embeds no tracking or analytics services. Where technically necessary cookies are used, the basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and section 25(2) TDDDG.
7. Google reCAPTCHA
On the waitlist and early access forms (for Fast Connect, Vocabularify, BerlinArea, Agentic CMS, WordMCPress and others) I use "Google reCAPTCHA" (v3), a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to detect form spam and automated abuse. This transmits your IP address, browser and device information and your behaviour on the page to Google, where it is evaluated; a transfer to the United States is possible. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in forms that work and are protected against abuse, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. More information: Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.
8. Waitlist and early access sign-up
For some products (WordMCPress, Fast Connect, Vocabularify, BerlinArea, Agentic CMS and others) you can join a waitlist or sign up for early access. The forms are processed by my own server and are not passed to an external form or newsletter provider. I process your name and the e-mail address you give, in order to tell you when the product starts or becomes available; the request reaches me by e-mail. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Google reCAPTCHA is used in addition to guard against automated entries (see section 7). You can ask me to remove you at any time by e-mail, and your data is then deleted.
9. Contact form and bug reports
On some product pages (BerlinArea among them) you can send me a message or report a bug through a contact form. I process your name, your e-mail address, the type of request (message or bug report) and the content of your message. To make sense of technical bug reports, your IP address and browser identifier (user agent) are transmitted as well. The form is processed by my own server and delivered to me by e-mail; no external form provider is involved. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering enquiries and fixing faults in my products, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and for contract-related enquiries Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Google reCAPTCHA is used to guard against automated submissions (see section 7). Your message is deleted once it is no longer needed to deal with your request and no statutory retention period applies.
10. The BerlinArea app
The BerlinArea mobile app is a separate matter from this website, and it collects nothing. The map, the photographs and the texts are bundled inside the app, so it needs no connection to work. Your location is read only to draw your position on the map and to say which side of the former border you are standing on; it stays on the device, is not stored on any server and is not shared. Favourites, settings and route progress are kept in the device's own storage. The app has no account, no advertising and no analytics. It contains a crash reporting library, which has no endpoint configured in the released builds, so no crash data is sent. If that ever changes, this section and the store data safety declarations will be updated first.
11. External links (LinkedIn, YouTube, Substack, X, GitHub)
This site contains plain links to external platforms. Those providers process data only once you click a link and open their page. The respective provider is the controller for that processing and its privacy terms apply.
12. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
13. Right to complain
